Who We Are: NAPA of Boston

NAPA of Boston is owned and operated by a father and son team each with years of experience shooting pool in various leagues and tournaments throughout New England. We started our affiliation with the North American Poolshooters Association in May 2012 and, despite the relative infancy of our operation (NAPA has been around for years), kicked off our first league in June 2012. We are currently ramping up efforts of reaching out to venues and players to create several NAPA affiliated leagues in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. These new leagues will span several formats including 8-ball, 9-ball, and 10-ball for teams of three to eight players of different skill limits and demographics. Regardless of the format, you can always count on more than 50% of all NAPA of Boston league dues being paid back to the players within the division at the end of each pool shooting session.

WHAT SETS US APART FROM OTHER LEAGUES?
  • We tell you upfront how much money will be paid back to players (more than 50% per session) and in what manner. In addition to top shooting teams, cash prizes will be awarded for more individual achievements including break and runs, rackless matches, and 8/9 on the breaks.
  • We'll be stopping by the bars, clubs, and pool halls where you play on a regular basis to listen to your feedback and answer any questions you have about the league, rules, schedules, etc.
  • No more mailing in checks and score sheets... for most leagues, we'll collect your paperwork when you're done shooting each night. This method of delivery means less work for you and helps to ensure that league standings, individual statistics, and achievements are updated and rewarded in a timely manner.
  • Qualify for NAPA's National Tournament as a team OR as an individual. All players from session-winning teams automatically qualify (no playoffs required) in addition to team captains and top shooting individuals from each team.
  • The entire history of all NAPA members' play is accessible online including handicap trends, team standings, individual accomplishments, and even player head-to-head matchups. Use this resource to compare yourself to pool shooters nationally or to understand why a particular player is rated the way they are.
  • Formats for three, four, and five player teams allows for fewer matches per night (in leagues that prefer this format) so that you can get home before midnight! Shooting with smaller teams also makes it easier to field a larger, more competitive league.
  • No play, no pay... if your team is forced to forfeit a match, you don't have to pay weekly dues for the missing player. The winning team can choose to pay and accept points or pay nothing and it's a wash.
